Oscar de la Hoya’s rehab stay was the subject of mockery by reigning boxing champ Floyd Mayweather. The Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez fight this past weekend was briefly shadowed by the news that Oscar de la Hoya would be entering a drug and alcohol treatment center. Though de la Hoya and Mayweather have clashed in public in the past, Floyd voiced his support by saying, “I wish Oscar nothing but the best. Hopefully he will pull through like a champion.” After beating Canelo, the champ then took to Instagram and posted a meme of Oscar, “Meanwhile in rehab, I gave Canelo the wrong blueprint, I was high.” Hours later, the jab was deleted and followed with an apology by Mayweather, “Its unfortunate that a stupid Instagram picture was posted on my account earlier today without my permission. I apologize to Oscar and his family for this posting, I wish him well and am rooting for him to win this fight too.”
